Just a very quick update. Our first sea shipment heading to the UK is underway, the second on its way to the US is loaded on the boat but awaiting a departure date. Slightly annoying but out of our hands.
Timeline for January deliveries is still looking likely!

Hi All,
Quick update to say that we have been told to expect sea shipping for UK and US orders to finally kick off over the next week. They'll be sent to distribution hubs for domestic shipping within those regions, estimate is around 3 weeks for them to arrive. EU & ROW will be sent via air directly to customers once all the address info is formatted and ready for upload. The plan is for all orders to arrive around the same time.
The delay on shipping has been a real shame, but ultimately just one of those things that happens. Production went well and the inclusion of the foam-trays slowed things once we'd started doing some postal trials.
This time the delay was caused by overweight cartons. The factory was not aware of an overweight shipping charge applied to cartons over a certain amount, so the decision was made to repack everything into smaller cartons so the shipping funds raised would actually cover the cost of getting your rewards to you.
We'll post an update when we have a clearer picture on when things are due to arrive, but given that we are getting closer and closer to the winter holidays each day it is likely to now expect your orders in December and early January for some.

Due to the weight of the glass element and the turblence of shipping fees around this time of year, UK and N.American orders will be sent to shipping hubs via Fast Sea and sent using domestic tracked couriers from there. EU and ROW orders will be sent direct to your door around the same time with no issues for customs/VAT that we are aware of (apologies if there are any exceptions in Europe, where possible we are sending prepaid).

UN&i launched DOCKET this past week, their productivity system with a compact to-do card stand and a whiteboard. If you think their whiteboard looks familiar - it is! They reached out to us a while back to say we inspired the final iteration of their design as the original version wasn't as nice as ours. As indicated in our last update, we never intended to do a white-version anyway and feel this is what Kickstarter's community is all about. So here is a nod to their campaign!

In the last update we shared that production was complete and shipping trials were due to start. These are now complete and it went well - no breakages! However. There was a bit of rattling...
To add an extra layer of protection and stop your packages rattling, we have had foam rectangles die-cut which hold the legs and pens in place. This has made a big difference and only set things back by a week. They're now all complete and every unit is packed up and ready to get moving.
Unfortunately, the Chinese have a 7 day holiday from Oct 1 - Oct 8th, so nothing is going to move until the week they get back. Out of our control sadly. From there, N.American orders will be put on a ship, UK/EU orders will be put on a ship and ROW orders will be prepped and dispatched via air.
We'll give a few days notice for final address changes before the ROW orders are air-shipped. For N.America and UK/EU, we'll give you notice too.

This might come as a slightly unconventional recommendation... but here goes. The team at UN&i have spent the past year developing their own take on unplugged-productivity tools. After seeing our Deskboard campaign go live, they totally changed the design of their own whiteboard to make very close to ours.
We think it looks awesome, and very much appreciate that they reached out to tell us this before launching. We have no intention of selling a non-carbon version of our whiteboard anyway, and appreciate our all-black design it isn't for everyone. We have no problem with their design or their campaign and wish them the very best of luck with the launch.
Clearly our version was for you (thank you again) so you may not need one of theirs too, but their ToDo cards look so nice that they're definitely worth checking out. And yes, we'll be ordering a set... maybe we'll launch a carbon fibre version?

Now that production has finished in good time, we are still able to stick to the original plan of sea-shipping to fulfilment centres around the world with the goal to get your orders out to you in November.
We are currently running final postage trials to ensure they arrive in good condition (they are made of glass afterall!) and once thats concluded we aim to get them moving on ships within the next fortnight.
